Following
the meeting between current President of the European Council H.E.
Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker with the leader of Greek Cypriots, Mr
Tassos Papadopoulos on 28 February 2005, current President of the
European Council issued a statement in European Council’s web page
and stated that their talks were mainly revolved around problems
relating the reunification of the island. However, although both
sides of the island have been negotiating in order to reach a
settlement for many years, they couldn’t reach a comprehensive
settlement.
